Top 6 Secrets To Change Your Life

Okay. I have received way too many messages this past week asking me what my secret is to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. I think that it's a good time to break it down for you all.
Free of charge! πŸ˜‚

Today I will cover my #1 secret.

Exercise EVERYDAY. Not for an hour... Not on the same machine everytime.

There are studies that actually help save you time folks. A little thing called 'Circuit training' has busted at the seems with great reviews across the Globe!

The reality is that you can maximize your results by 'effectively' (THAT'S KEY) bringing your heart rate up (to your safe high) and keeping it up there for a minimum of 10/15mins at a time.
So, a quick 15 mins to a 1/2 an hour at a time will have big benefits!

(But only if you stay consistent or work continuously at staying consistent with getting these short bursts of work outs IN)

Heavy weight lifting & cardio mashups help to kick your fat-burning furnace into high gear!!

Now all you have to do is remember to mix it up with both cardio and strength training.
This comprehensive format really does help to give you the best of both worlds by allowing you to combine intervals of high-intensity cardio with heavy weight lifting for a complete workout format to get you to burn the most fat possible.

Did you get YOUR 'Glisten' on today? 😎

Why Detox you say?!

Well, everyone has their own reasons really.
I can only vouch for myself and why I choose to detoxify my body at least twice a year.
Truthfully, knowledge IS power; and as I have chosen this professional path as a health and wellness lifestyle coach, I have been blessed with an over abundant access to trainings, certifications and seminars. ☺️

The cleanse kit that I use is the most innovative and cutting edge one on the market. It is not only a system to mildly purge your colon but your liver as well. We all know that the majority of us do put our body through a lot on a daily basis. Not only is our digestive tract overworked (and under paid of nutrient rich fuel) but our liver is constantly put to work with the choices that we commonly make.

With exceptional herbs and botanicals this 7 day cleanse, when used correctly, detoxifies, cleanses and helps to purify the digestive tract and liver simultaneously.
I just cannot stress the need to find a safe way that can cleanse your body of harmful accumulated toxins. It will literally change the direction of your 'future' health.
(This was the knowledge tid bit ☺️)

Now my reason for getting this in a couple times of year....
I love to feel my body at it's optimal potential. I hate knowing that I am making my body work harder rather than smarter.
Quite frankly, it's one of my many 'secrets' that I choose to share on here of how to stay on your journey to a healthy lifestyle.

So, I did not take a before pic 'for' this detox but if you know me or follow me on SM, you know that there was work to be done. Lol

I also did not make the time to jot down my measurements.
All I did this time around was weigh in to keep it simple.
I do not feel the need to 'cheat' and consume anything that is not on the 'approved' list because well, it's only 7 days to reboot my system and rebuild my lifestyle journey.

My way of fueling is basically, lots of raw and/or steamed veggies, some fruits, very little lean proteins and an insane amount of water to help flush out the toxins to the max!

Day 1 = 1_6.4 lbs
Day 2 = 1_2.4 lbs
Day 3 = 1_0.0 lbs

Down 6.4 lbs in the first 3 days and  I know a whole lot of inches. ...my clothes feel better, things are not bulging or overflowing and I feel great!
(Aside from some fatigue because I am opting to getting some light work outs in)

Just 4 more days to go!!

To better health and a stronger you!
Happy Hump Day! πŸ’ͺπŸΌπŸ™ŒπŸΌπŸ‘ŒπŸΌ

Find a way to surround yourself with those that give you wind beneathyour wings...

There is a need to share when brightness and goodness shines through as hope for a better tomorrow or simply your very best today.
So, this post I don't give you too much in the way that I think or feel. Today I just give you a more clear picture of what I do; by sharing our CEO's wife, Senior Vice President of Internet retailing for our company, Loren Ridinger's heart.

http://www.lorensworld.com/life-work/things-love-entrepreneurial-life/

The 5 Key factors that resonate with me after having been an Entrepreneur these past 4 years...

1. Take notice that she doesn't say that it's easy or that they were able to make it fast or alone. She clearly states; "We worked at it everyday AND AFTER 24 YEARS, with the help of all the people who believed in us and worked with us, we are finally seeing the dream materialize in the incredible way we knew it could."

2. She, as many of us in the game, does not cloak herself in trying to create a smoke and mirrors 'opportunity'. Her DIRECT quote LISTS "the kinds of things that I love about the entrepreneurial life, despite its guaranteed challenges and tests."

3. The actual freedom on a daily basis to be able to create your day your way is undeniably empowering. As per Loren, "you get to define what success means to you"

4. Then there is more truth to follow that to me is ethical, real and on point. "The flexibility of time has been a blessing. And while it was incredibly hard at the beginning, after nurturing and growing our idea, the fact remains the same back then as it is now – whether we had nothing or everything, getting to spend time with our kids on our terms was and still is everything."

5. Rounding up my #5... Loren's "#5. Live Life on Your Terms: It’s not easy by any means. But it’s your choice, your life, your terms. You get to work towards something for yourself rather than for a boss who’s profiting off you. It’s the opportunity I’m so grateful we can give to our own entrepreneurs and something I wish for everyone trying to make it: live life on your terms. Time is precious. You should be able to enjoy it and define it for your own success."

And so... Happy Friday. 😎

Truth is, being on Social Media is not about 'portraying' a perfect life... It's about inspiring others to always find the beauty in their lives.

I believe that there is great strength in finding the ability to live life with ALL it has to offer, good and bad.

No one person is perfect.
No one life has it all.

However, having said that; when you can look at your own present life, relationships and past mistakes;
except them for what they are, what came from them and work daily to embrace the true value of a moment in time...

Something almost enchanting occurs.

Your life begins to take shape of what others wrongfully interpret as 'seemingly' perfect. When the reality is that nothing can be further from the truth.

When I have taken notice of this perplexing outlook that others seem to have, it bothers me.
I know that it shouldn't.
I know that for the most part, what others think shouldn't take up any of my time or energy.

The truth is though, I am just wired to want to help others view things without human natures judgemental instinct.
(( I wasn't always quite so intuned... Trust me. πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€ ))

So, if you have a contact/friend on SocialMedia that you feel puts out such a 'perfect' picture of their whoopteedo life;
you might want to reconsider your perspective.

Maybe even be thankful that they are not bringing their everyday drama into your SM World.
I assure you. They have bad moments, bad days and rough patches in their lives too. They just don't surround themselves or others with all the negativity or stress.

With these thoughts and these empowering words (adapted from "The Secret")
I bid you all an excellent hump day... ☺️

That moment when making your health a priority takes on a whole lot ofmeaning...

And so, today we had our final morning OnRamp at the box; the 12th out of a 12.

One question that I was asked by a few people... "Are you glad it's over"?

Well, it took some thinking but I did come to somewhat of a conclusion:

I am because I no longer have those three 'hour' slots taken per week in my calendar. I am because the idea of not feeling a bit beat up (all the time) is kinda' soothing, I cannot lie.

...and then there's the flip side of the coin.

I am not also!

I am not because I am going to miss seeing the welcoming smiles at that place.
I am not happy that it's over because I no longer have the 'high priority' to make myself get out of my 'physical' comfort zone to evolve as an athlete.
I am not happy because although there was a little bit of discomfort and sometimes pain; these last 4wks have made me feel strong and happy.

We repeated our first work out today.
500meter row
40air squats
30sit ups
20push ups (assisted for me)
10ring rows

03/07/16 my time was 7:49 and I felt beat down. It killed me to see the harsh reality of just how strong I am not. ...of just how much I've let my body Oxidate
by not putting it into functional movement the way that it is meant to be. 😞
I had a pretty tough time being slapped with those harsh realities.

Today 04/01/16 my time was 5:47!!
I SHAVED OFF 2min AND 2sec!
(...and yes, I am counting the sec too)
But even more extraordinary than the MUCH better time...

I actually ended the work out and could not believe that it was over... I felt strong; as if I had more left in me to give!!

FOUR weeks of determination to commit to strengthening myself physically and mentally.

I am looking forward to staying on track and putting myself at the top of that priority list for a long time to come.

...thank you CrossFit Illumine! Your coaches and your family of cross fitters are truly top notch.

As the transformation takes place; your body, mind and soul start taking form....

Today was session #8 of 12.
My body just feels like one big bruise at this point but not enough to stop me from walking tall, proud, strong and swiftly through my blessings of a day.

True story about starting CrossFit:

If you are afraid to try it, know that you're probably only afraid of realizing just how much more your body is truly capable of accomplishing.

Our bodies are meant to be in 'functional' movement throughout our lifespan.
If you stop moving, your body WILL rust (sort of speak) and I've done a lot of different exercises regimens in my lifetime.
I get it.
...something, anything is better than nothing.

However, I'm a "just HOW MUCH am I capable of getting in on" kinda' gal.

And THIS CrossFit crew knows their stuff! πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ

The work is real. The energy and ego boosts are real. ...but most of all, knowing that I am not only evolving physically as I am mentally is a HUGE bonus.

It's not easy to see just how much no longer comes easy. Just how much I've allowed myself to believe that getting competitive WITH ONESELF is just for the younger generation.

Don't let a declining 'comfort zone' run your mind, body and soul.

Get up. Get out. Try something new.

It will not only change your health and body but it will ignite your soul and feed your mind with new boundaries to aim for!

All of the sacrifices WILL be well worth it.

True testament to #failingmywaytosuccess

I missed the FREE month at my Gym folks. The decision to embark on this challenge was basically not only to save the $ but to create the habit of MAKING the gym a priority.

Now, it has been quite the task since I was the recipient of an amazing prize at the CrossFit Box that my son works at;
Which is a 12 session program for beginners / 3x's a week for 4 wks!
((Which I started on the first Monday of March)) πŸ‘€

Not sure why or how all the stars aligned for me quite this way; but they did.
...and I'm not going to lie, I love it! πŸ’ͺπŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘ŒπŸΌ

So, the "skinny":
I missed 26 check-in's by THREE.

Apparently, when my bank has a pull on one day; it shows it on the following day.
Therefor, I calculated ALL of my efforts wrong. πŸ˜‘

I actually DID get my first check-in out of THREE that I was going to hit on that last day;
But the pull happened on that same day.

This was a BIG disheartening moment.

However, on the brighter side of things;
1) It was a VERY cheap pull.
2) I have lost weight (mostly inches)
3) But MOST importantly to me, I have created habits that I can now take down a notch and hit my mark for the next billing cycle.

Perspective people....
Perspective - the state of one's ideas, the facts known to one, etc., in having a meaningful interrelationship.

Life is only "Like a Box of Chocolates," if you 'allow' yourself to view it as such.

Why you should never... Never throw in the towel.

You may or may not know... I'm no spring chicken. Lol ...and there have been so many ups and downs in my life with weight and fitness level that this blog would have to become a book to go over all of them.

The reality remains that people seem to always view me as a health fanatic. Everyone thinks that I don't eat junk or over eat when I fuel.
...nothing can be further from the truth!!

Here is where "Never throwing in that towel" comes into play.

The difference between me and many other people is that I've made myself addicted to wanting more out of myself.

No matter how bad my fitness level gets or how much extra weight I've carried throughout my lifetime... I always get back at it. ((I'm not saying that it's easy))

I'm just saying that YOU ARE WORTH IT.
Being more mindful of what you allow your body to consume. Getting yourself back to the gym or on those walks outside. EVERY and ANY effort put forth is worth it. Even when things don't happen over night! ((Because I ASSURE you, they won't))

Your fitness level and body weight ((most of the time)) are a direct product of a 'lifetime' of habits. Not a product of an empowered moment in time.
So cut yourself some slack and make your expectations realistic ones.

But rest assured; you ALWAYS HAVE to be proud of each one of those empowered moments! ...for without those sparks of motivation, lifelong momentum can NEVER happen.

((The initial spark HAS to exist before a roaring flame can exist.))

So good morning to you all!! And with this #rawtruth I leave you today.

Get motivated to find your strongest, healthiest, happiest YOU. Stay the course and NEVER throw in the towel. After all, the best destinations reached come with moments of recharging to reenergize and refocus! 😎

When you are a parent... Always remember that you have VIP's watching

So the Dolls were off from school today; and it just happened to be my FIRST session (of onRamp) at a CrossFit box that I've been watching from a far for a while now.

The precision of caring that these coaches practice is simply invaluable.

They care about where you are at, where you want to be and most importantly, how they are going to coach you to get there 'safely'.

Now, considering that CrossFit has such a bad rep about people injuring themselves... I'm sure that you can see the extreme value in knowing that THIS box is NOT in the running for 'just another CrossFit gym'.

I get back home to fuel with my girls and one of them posted this on IG. :')

I absolutely LOVE that at such a young age, she sees the value of dreams and of being powerful enough to see that it's in YOUR own hands to make them a reality.

Strength comes in different ways for different people at different times. For me today, it comes in the form of sculpting strong and passionate kids that believe that they can do anything. πŸ’ͺπŸΌπŸ˜ŽπŸ™ŒπŸΌ

How the heck?! ...a love n' hate relationship with the bike.

How is it that with everything I've hit at this gym during my Phase 2 of my 21 Day Challenge; the bike kicked my arsss! ....and yet it 'only' showed that I burned 148 Calories, during a 30min 6 and 1/2 session that left me dripping sweat?!

I really hate the bike. Just sayin'...
But I feel like I got the most bang for my buck. o_O ((even tho the calories did NOT make it seem as such))

Day 7 of Phase 2 ✔️
(( Day 14 in the 21 Day ))πŸ˜…

The proof is in the puddin'

I've always known this to be true. Did I actually believe it? Or much less like it?? No. Not really....

You see, even though my journey in life has been pretty much an athletic one; I have to confess that I am addicted to stepping on that God forsaken scale. (Almost daily) πŸ™ˆ

I know when I am eating clean within the 80/20 rule. I know when I am active and running and/or hitting the gym. Therefor by default; I KNOW that I am healthier, leaner and stronger. ...and yet without fail; I step on, hoping and praying to see 'my dream' weight. πŸ˜‘

Needless to say; it has yet to happen. Lol

#rawtruth #righthererightnow

...for the last 11 days I have been at the beginning of a 21 day challenge. I have in total only lost 6 lbs in said 11 days but 2 & 1/2 ins.

I am not 'thrilled' but I know that I should be. I have hit the gym 7 times in those 11 days; I am easing back into the lifestyle that I strive for and admit that my journey is still a long one to reach the ultimate personal goals that I have set for years.

In closing, to those of you that share this obsession to climb onto that scale; DITCH IT!

The measuring tape and how you feel are no liars to the true measure of your success in progress.
